- 2 1⁄2 lbs chicken
- 1 lb potatoes
- 2 table spoon curry powder
- 1 teaspoon masala
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 onion
- 5 cloves garlic
- 3 wiri-wiri peppers
- 1 oz Oil (approximately)
- Cut chicken into medium to small pieces and wash thoroughly Peel and slice onions and garlic and dice the peppers Mix curry powder, masala, salt, onion, garlic and peppers in one bowl, add water and stir until mixture looks like a paste.
- Peel and dice potatoes into quarters (4 pieces). Add oil to cahari and allow to heat. When oil is heated pour in the mixture (paste) and cook for approximately 2 minutes. Add chicken pieces to cahari. Cook for approximately 15 – 20 minutes until water from chicken dries down. Add potato quarters to cahari after the water has dried down
- Then add 2 cups of water to Karahi and cook for approximately 15 – 20 minutes or until potatoes are cooked.
With that you have a mouth watering chicken curry!!!
For our vegetarian lovers – Potato (aloo), Mango & Channa Curry, can be made using the same recipe. To do so eliminate the chicken from the mixture and substitute it with 2 1⁄2 lbs potatoes, Mangoes or one and a half pints of Channa.
